The Story Behind the Bronze
Three Revivals. One Golden Metal.
In the 1980s, jewelers looked backward to move forward — reviving Art Deco geometry, Art Nouveau flow and Egyptian symbolism in warm sculptural bronze. Labouddica collects, restores and re-sets those pieces, one pair at a time.
Art Deco Revival
Clean geometry, symmetry and rhythm — interlocking rings, orbits and half-moons cut in bronze. The 1980s took Deco's machine-age confidence and made it kinetic: pieces that move, catch light and swing with the wearer.
Our kinetic designs — the Orbit, the Half-Moon Balance — belong here: sculptural, balanced, deliberately architectural, softened by a warm satin-polished bronze and a single stone set like a planet in motion.
Art Nouveau Revival
Where Deco is straight lines, Nouveau is the curve — vines, waves and organic asymmetry. The 1980s revival kept that flowing hand but grounded it in solid bronze, letting the metal ripple around a natural stone.

Egyptian Revival

Why Bronze, and Why the 1980s Revival
The 1980s were a decade of confident, sculptural jewelry — and bronze was the material of the moment: warm as gold, honest as iron, heavy enough to feel like something. Designers revived earlier movements and cut them large, kinetic and unapologetic. Four decades on, those pieces have aged into exactly the patina you can't fake.
Labouddica exists to rescue them. Each pair we list is an original of its era, cleaned and restored but never stripped of its history — the small marks are the point.
Art Deco vs. Art Nouveau vs. Egyptian Revival
Deco is geometry: circles, orbits, half-moons, symmetry, movement. Nouveau is the opposite hand — organic curves, waves and asymmetry that flow around a stone. Egyptian revival is symbolic and petite, leaning on turquoise, lotus and scarab forms that reach back millennia. The same bronze reads completely differently across the three — which is exactly why the collection is built around all of them.
